- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (plain or seasoned)
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 large egg
- Salt and pepper to taste
For the Gravy:
- 1 cup beef broth (homemade or store-bought)
- 1 cup sliced mushrooms (button or your choice)
- 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
For the Patties:
- 1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until combined.
- 2. Divide the mixture into equal portions and shape them into oval patties about half an inch thick.
For the Gravy:
- 3. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat with a little oil. Sear the patties for about 3 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- 4. In the same skillet, add sliced mushrooms and sauté until softened, about 4 minutes.
- 5. Add beef broth and Worcestershire sauce to the skillet; bring to a simmer.
- 6. Return the patties to the skillet and simmer everything together on low heat for about 10 minutes.
