- 1 cup honey
- 1/2 cup fresh orange juice
- Zest of 2 oranges
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
For the Ham:
- One fully cooked bone-in ham (about 8-10 pounds)
Instructions
For the Glaze:
- 1. In a mixing bowl, combine honey, orange juice, orange zest, brown sugar, cayenne pepper, and black pepper. Stir until well blended.
For the Ham:
- 1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C).
- 2. Place the bone-in ham on a large cutting board. Score the surface in a diamond pattern using a sharp knife.
- 3. Generously coat half of the glaze onto the scored ham using a basting brush or spoon.
- 4. Place the glazed ham in a roasting pan and cover loosely with aluminum foil. Bake for about 1 hour.
- 5. After an hour, remove the foil and baste every 15 minutes with more glaze until heated through and caramelized—approximately another hour.
- 6. Once browned and fragrant, let it rest for about ten minutes before slicing. Serve warm with remaining glaze on the side.
