Description

Indulge in a delightful blend of sweet honey, tangy orange, and a hint of spice with this mouthwatering baked ham, perfect for any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Glaze:

  • 1 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup fresh orange juice
  • Zest of 2 oranges
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper

For the Ham:

  • One fully cooked bone-in ham (about 8-10 pounds)

Instructions

For the Glaze:

  1. 1. In a mixing bowl, combine honey, orange juice, orange zest, brown sugar, cayenne pepper, and black pepper. Stir until well blended.

For the Ham:

  1. 1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (163°C).
  2. 2. Place the bone-in ham on a large cutting board. Score the surface in a diamond pattern using a sharp knife.
  3. 3. Generously coat half of the glaze onto the scored ham using a basting brush or spoon.
  4. 4. Place the glazed ham in a roasting pan and cover loosely with aluminum foil. Bake for about 1 hour.
  5. 5. After an hour, remove the foil and baste every 15 minutes with more glaze until heated through and caramelized—approximately another hour.
  6. 6. Once browned and fragrant, let it rest for about ten minutes before slicing. Serve warm with remaining glaze on the side.
