For the Casserole:
- 2 lbs sweet potatoes

Instructions
For the Casserole:
- 1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- 2. Peel and chop sweet potatoes into even chunks. Boil in salted water until tender, about 15–20 minutes. Drain and let cool slightly.
- 3. In a large bowl, combine drained sweet potatoes with softened butter, brown sugar, maple syrup, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt. Mash until smooth and creamy.
- 4. Transfer the mashed sweet potato mixture into a greased baking dish, spreading it evenly.
For the Pecan Topping:
- 5. In another bowl, mix chopped pecans with melted butter and brown sugar until well coated. Sprinkle this mixture over the sweet potato layer.
- 6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 30–35 minutes or until bubbly and golden on top. Broil for an extra minute if you prefer a crispy topping.
- 7. Serve warm as a side dish or enjoy straight from the baking dish!
