- 1 cup breadcrumbs (plain or panko)
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning

For the Coating:
- 1. Set up three shallow bowls: one with flour, one with whisked eggs, and one with breadcrumbs mixed with Italian seasoning.
- 2. Roll each string cheese stick in flour until fully coated. Shake off excess flour. Dip into the egg mixture, then roll in breadcrumbs until completely covered.
For Freezing and Frying:
- 3. Place the breaded cheese sticks on a parchment-lined baking sheet and freeze for about 30 minutes to prevent oozing during cooking.
- 4. In a deep frying pan or pot, heat oil over medium-high heat to approximately 350°F (175°C).
- 5. Carefully add frozen cheese sticks to the hot oil in batches, frying until golden brown and crispy (about two minutes per side).
- 6. Transfer fried mozzarella sticks onto paper towels to drain excess oil and serve hot with marinara sauce for dipping.
