- 3–4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 large eggs
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Vegetable or canola oil for frying
For the Sauce:
- ½ cup ketchup
- 2 tbsp honey
Instructions
- 1. Preheat Your Oven:
- Set your oven to preheat at 400°F (200°C).
- 2. Prepare Your Chicken:
- Cut each boneless chicken breast into thin strips, about one inch wide.
- 3. Set Up Your Breading Station:
- In one bowl, whisk the eggs until frothy. In another bowl, combine flour, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Place panko breadcrumbs in a third bowl.
- 4. Coat the Chicken:
- Dip each strip into the flour mixture, then the egg wash, and finally coat it with panko breadcrumbs.
- 5. Fry Away:
- Heat half an inch of cooking oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, add your breaded strips in batches and fry until golden brown on both sides (about four minutes per side).
- 6. Bake for Extra Crispiness:
- Transfer fried strips to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for five minutes to ensure they stay crispy.
- 7. Serve with Sauce:
- Drizzle with sauce before serving.
