For the Chicken:
- 3–4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup Italian bread crumbs
- 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups whole milk mozzarella cheese, shredded
For the Sauce:
- 1 cup marinara sauce
Instructions
For the Chicken:
- 1. Preheat your air fryer to 380°F (193°C).
- 2. Season chicken breasts with salt and pepper on both sides.
- 3. Set up three shallow dishes: one with flour, one with beaten eggs (add a splash of water), and the last with a mixture of Italian bread crumbs and Parmesan cheese.
- 4. Dredge each chicken breast in flour, dip into the egg wash, then coat generously in the breadcrumb mixture.
- 5. Lightly spray each breaded chicken breast with cooking spray.
- 6. Place chicken in a single layer in the air fryer basket and cook for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through until crispy.
For the Sauce:
- 7. Once the chicken is cooked, remove from the air fryer and spoon marinara sauce over each piece.
- 8. Sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top of the sauced chicken.
- 9. Return to the air fryer for an additional 3-5 minutes until cheese is bubbly and slightly browned.
- 10. Serve hot alongside pasta or a fresh salad.
