Instructions
For the Cupcakes:
- 1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
- 2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
- 3. In another bowl, mix milk, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- 4. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Fold in the crushed Oreos.
- 5. Fill each cupcake liner about two-thirds full with batter.
- 6. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Allow to cool completely before frosting.
For the Frosting:
- 1. Beat softened butter in a bowl until creamy.
- 2. Gradually add powdered sugar and mix until smooth.
- 3. Add heavy cream and vanilla extract; beat on high until light and fluffy.
- 4. Frost cooled cupcakes with the Oreo buttercream and sprinkle additional crushed Oreos on top.
