Description

Cheeseburger egg rolls are a delicious twist on classic flavors, combining crispy wrappers with savory beef and gooey cheese for the perfect snack or appetizer.

For the Filling:

  • 1 lb ground beef (lean)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup diced onions
  • 2 tbsp ketchup
  • 2 tbsp mustard

For Assembly:

  • 12 egg roll wrappers
  • Oil for frying

Instructions

For the Filling:

  1. 1. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked, breaking it up as it cooks. Drain excess fat and set aside.
  2. 2. In the same skillet, add diced onions and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  3. 3. Return the cooked beef to the skillet with onions. Stir in shredded cheese, ketchup, and mustard until well combined. Remove from heat once the cheese melts.

For Assembly:

  1. 4. Lay an egg roll wrapper in a diamond shape. Place about two tablespoons of the cheeseburger mixture in the center. Fold up the bottom corner over the filling, then roll tightly while folding in the sides.
  2. 5. In a deep frying pan or pot, heat about two inches of oil over medium-high heat until it reaches around 350°F (175°C).
  3. 6. Carefully place each filled egg roll into hot oil (do not overcrowd). Fry until golden brown, about three minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.
